Details

We've paired two rugged natural survivors of wind and storm - succulents and driftwood and given them safe harbor in a compact indoor garden that is easy to grow and even easier to enjoy. Surf and sand-smoothed Oregon coast driftwood forms a compact, rustic exterior for our handcrafted planters. Succulents are hardy and low-maintenance.

Please Note: Succulents do not require a great deal of care, but please keep the following in mind when caring for your succulents. Succulents prefer bright light, but cannot tolerate intense direct sunlight. Succulents that are under too much light intensity will have a bleached appearance and succulents without enough light will become elongated and appear to "reach for sunlight." Over-watering succulents can cause the plants to die. To water your succulents, use a spray bottle to avoid over-watering.
Product Care Light: It is best to keep out of direct sunlight for one week after arrival. Succulents prefer some protection from midday sun if kept outside. A south facing window is ideal if kept indoors.

Water: Soak plants once every 3 to 10 weeks depending on plant needs. Water is needed when the planter feels lightweight, or the leaves have puckered. Do not mist spray plants as this practice encourages shallow roots and weak plants. Deep soaking and allowing soil to dry out completely between watering works best.

Fertilizing: Little fertilizer is needed. In the spring and summer a feeding of liquid fertilizer (15-30-15) can be added to the soaking water.

Pruning: Succulents grow slowly, to maintain shape, pinch or prune back. Cuttings can be planted into a pot once callused.
Additional Information There are artists, crafters, makers, builders, carpenters and allother types of artisans right here in our own backyards, and our hope is that when you think of beautiful, handcrafted products from across the globe, you think of them too. Buying domestically can be more eco-conscious, as it reduces transportation needs and consequently the energy and natural resources expended in the process; this makes us huge proponents of shopping locally.
