Railroad Tie Bookshelf
The hardest piece of furniture
to find is a bookcase that
delivers style as well as function-
like our vintage railroad
tie units. To create this striking
furniture, woodworkers transform
reclaimed, rustic 50-year old
creosote-free railroad ties-made from
teak, pine, and ironwood-into
shelving supported by sturdy
recycled metal frames that have
been given a waxed finish. The
look is airy, not clunky-yet the
units are as strong as they are
versatile. The units arrive flat,
with instructions for quick
assembly. 60"L x 15"W x 72"H. Note: see special shipping info.
NOTE: Due to special handling an additional $100 shipping fee per bookshelf will be added to your total at checkout. Item will be delivered to your door (not inside delivery). OPTIONAL WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY: For an additional $250 this item can be shipped White Glove which includes scheduled inside delivery, set-up and packaging removal. RESTRICTIONS: Cannot be shipped via express delivery. Cannot be shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam or the US Virgin Islands.
Cracks and fills are an inherent feature of this piece and add to its unique, handmade beauty. Depending on the wood originally used to make the railroad ties there may be a slight odor upon opening. This will dissipate within a few days. Clean with a damp soft cloth. As dryness may encourage cracking, we recommend using a natural wax like beeswax polish or carnuba to maintain the lustre of the wood.
