Comments about BambooWeave Loungewear:
since about september of 2012 i've had the pajamas set, a ruffled set, and the long robe. from a separate order i also have a short robe, second pajamas set, two gowns - all from the same manufacturer, yala, which was bamboo dreams. these items are softer than your favorite old comfy t-shirt and feel like a luxury each time i touch them. the straps tend to stretch on me in an evening before bedtime, but i attribute that to body shape.
i've really enjoyed my jammies and robes and felt them well worth the cost up until yesterday when i lifted up my long robe and saw a streak of too much light coming through the back. looking more closely i saw three places where the fabric is coming apart. i can't account for the treatment of my clothing being an issue as i am careful with clothes and use a front loading HE washer on delicate (front loading washers being far more gentle than top loading washers with an agitator.)
i am so terribly disappointed now as the pajamas and robes i've so loved for their lightweight, extreme softness have shown such a defect in just four months of use. i am not surprised that the soft surface shows a slight texture difference as i understand that softer fibers are more prone to showing wear than stiffer ones. (experience gained from knitting.) yet i have t-shirts that are a decade old at least that haven't showed any more wear than the initial difference between pristine and gently used. i had planned to continue enjoying my bamboo pieces for at least a few years before needing to replace any of them. i'm hoping this is the fault of a single piece, otherwise i'll just be watching the rest of my pajamas wardrobe wear out far too soon.
i actually did recommend these to friends in the past few months, but can't continue to. i'll try to attach a photo to illustrate. curiously, and i'm not sure this is visible in the image, there's a tiny grid of threads connecting the knit fabric even through the sudden holes. (another reason i think it is a fault and not just my treatment of it.)
- Feels true to size
- Feels true to length
- Was this a gift?:
- Great material
- Legs Sort Of Short
- Robe Sleeves Way Too Long
Comments about BambooWeave Loungewear:
I love the feel of this set. The pajama top is a great design and fits well. I'm about 5'7" 170 lbs, and the XL pj's fit well except a bit short legged. The robe (L/XL) was so nice, rather than send it back I hemmed the sleeves...not an easy task with this type of material. But worth it. A bit pricey, especially when you end having to alter it. We'll see how it holds up.
