Bamboo is one of the most environmentally friendly materials available and is harder than Red Oak. Growing to full maturity in 5 years or less (one fifth of the time it takes for most hardwoods to fully mature), it’s one of Earth’s fastest growing plants. This naturally renewable resource is also one of the most efficient plants at absorbing carbon and releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than an equivalent stand of trees.
Our beautiful bamboo furniture products are made from solid, fully mature Moso bamboo from sustainable forests native to Eastern China. Each piece is hand-selected and hand-cut by local farmers to conserve bamboo root systems and promote regrowth in subsequent years.
The hand-harvested bamboo is then delivered to our factory, which is also nestled deep in the heart of the Moso bamboo forests. There, our skilled craftspeople shape and refine each piece, protecting each with three coats of matte finish polyurethane for a surface that will stand the test of time. Leaving nothing to waste, our manufacturing process utilizes 100% of the bamboo material. Even the sawdust is used to generate steam for our dry kiln room and press machine.

Like any natural hardwood furniture, maintaining the humidity in a controlled environment is also very important for bamboo furniture. Keeping the relative humidity in the range of 40 to 55 percent will greatly reduce the potential for any checking or warping. Avoid placing furniture directly in front of heat vents, wood burning stoves or other heat sources. Never place bamboo furniture in direct sunlight day after day.
For periodic cleaning use a soft cloth and a gentle cleaner designed for wood furniture. (Avoid cleaners that contain abrasive materials, oil, acidic or caustic ingredients or any other harsh chemicals.) To prevent staining or water marks, make sure to clean spills immediately, using a dabbing motion with a soft cloth.
Do not use wax or polish on your bamboo furniture. Use coasters and pads to prevent damage from heat, moisture or heavy objects. To avoid scratches, take care to lift objects and never drag or slide them across the surface.
Each piece is exceptionally handmade to order. Not stored in a warehouse to collect dust. The quality you demand is evidenced in our craftsmanship. Please allow 8-10 weeks for delivery, additional delivery charges apply.
