The small tribe of Laotian carvers, who meticulously carve each unique candleholder, claim that they can see an elephant inside every tree. With this vision in mind, they use only their hands and basic carving tools to reveal the sculptural animals. Hand-chiseled from kiln-dried peach wood, each elephant - who we affectionately call "Lucky" is a one-of-a-kind. Display Lucky as a sculpture or adorn him with a candle. Please note that due to the natural variation in the wood, each piece may contain its own characteristic cracks and knots.

Artisan Story
We don't know if it truly takes a village to raise a child, but we do know that it takes a small tribe to carve an elephant. The small tripe of Laotian carvers who create our lucky wooden elephants claim that they can see an elephant inside every tree. Together, the work to draw the elephant out of the wood by hand chiseling and carving with basic hand tools and traditionally passed down techniques.
