From working the high rises as a construction welder to building power plants and paper mills, artisan Catherine Murphy has managed to use her creative skills in the medium of metal. Attending craft workshops and numerous welding schools led her to the beauty of copper. She was able to combine her technical skills and love of metal with her favorite childhood school project–creating insects! Many insects later, her inspiration has grown to include all of nature’s creatures. Each piece is created in her riverside studio, Haw Creek Forge, in Asheville, North Carolina.
