This wonderful reclamation story starts with a village in central java. Artisans dig up enormous roots balls from abandoned teak forests. Then they hand-carve each piece finding serving bowls and trays within the gnarly roots. A precious resource that would burn or rot becomes a beautiful object for the table and a one-of-a-kind functional sculpture.
