The highly sought-after teak tree is native to Myanmar, India, Thailand, and Indonesia. It is known for its rich golden color and incredible durability when exposed to the elements (though it's known to darken with age). The wood is, by nature, resistant to moisture, rot, decay, warping, and cracking. It's ideal for use indoors and outdoors in rooms or geographical locations with high humidity and moisture. The tree is widely grown on plantations to support its demand and allow it to be harvested at a sustainable rate. Because teak is so highly sought after, we prefer to source ours from monitored plantations, salvage it from scrap wood, or recycle it from a past use such as boat or deck wood.
